John Aviles, a true son of Hoboken, New Jersey grew up with an unquenchable thirst for competition. As a multifaceted athlete, John excelled in various sports before discovering his true passion – boxing. At 15, he began training under the legendary Coach Joe Botti, honing his skills and discipline.
Life’s challenges arrived unexpectedly. At 20, John became a father, and responsibilities took center stage. Despite facing hardships, John’s determination never wavered. He drew strength from his community and the lessons learned from his father, who had passed away when John was just 31.
Seeking a new path, John made the courageous decision to serve his country. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, dedicating eight years to protecting America’s freedoms. During his service, John discovered the transformative power of fitness and wellness.
Upon returning to Hoboken, John began training friends and family in local parks, sharing his expertise and enthusiasm. Word spread, and his informal sessions blossomed into a grassroots movement. John’s vision for a community-focused fitness center took shape.
His passion for health and wellness drove him to establish a safe haven for Hoboken’s youth. John’s programs aimed to instill discipline, confidence, and team-building skills. After years of perseverance, he secured his first location at the Hoboken Elks.
Today, John has realized his dream by acquiring the historic Neuman building, a Hoboken landmark where his aunt once crafted gloves for professional athletes. This iconic space will serve as a sanctuary for all youth and adults.
